We have long been fans of Poujeaux (a Cru Bourgeois property that surely should be elevated to Class Growth) and are always tickled that it was once mistaken for Lafite. Its current owner, Matthieu Cuvelier,bought the estate in 2008 and have systematically modernised the winery and changed the vineyards management, reducing yields, picking later and farming organically. They also employed top Bordeaux consultant Stphane Derenoncourt to advise. These improvements have resulted in silky, appealing reds which get better each vintage.
