The history of Bodegas LAN wines dates back to 1972, the year when the brand set up its winery. LAN stands for Logrono, Alava and Navarra, the three provinces that are part of the DOC Rioja area in Spain. The Vina Lanciano vineyard of Bodegas Lan is one of the most breathtaking vineyards in the entire Rioja area. It comprises an area of over 72 hectares and has the beautiful Ebro River at the backdrop. Vines are planted in 24 plots here and this is the area from fruits are sourced to craft the three rare and premium wines of Bodegas LAN Vina Lanciano, LAN A Mano and Culmen.
This vineyard is very special because it has a diverse range of soil quality and climatic conditions in different plots, which makes it great for growing different varietals such as the Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano. Sustainable viticultural practices are followed here to ensure that the grapes are hand-harvested and hand-selected before they proceed to the next stage.
