Warm, peachy pink hues in the glass, and aromas of red berries, grapefruit and herbs on the nose. The palate is playful and crisp, with hints of lime, rhubarb, raspberries and some nice minerals. Definitely balanced and dry, definitely easy drinking! The grapes are left in contact with their skins and then fermented with wild yeasts. The wine is then bottled unfined and unfiltered, following the Ancestral Method.
Based in the small, north-eastern region of Kamptal, Austria, Martin & Anna Arndorfer and Alwin & Stefanie Jurtschitsch are long time friends who produce exclusively pet nat wines. They work their high ground vineyards organically, nurturing the vines and all the surrounding environment. Fuchs und Hase (fox and hare) refers to an Austrian saying about a remote place in the forest where the fox and hare say goodnight.
