Chteau Musar, located in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, was established in 1930 by Gaston Hochar and has been family-owned and operated ever since. Known for producing wines with a strong sense of place, Chteau Musar combines traditional winemaking techniques with a deep respect for Lebanons winemaking heritage. The red blend, first created in 1959, has become the estates signature wine, known for its longevity and ability to develop complexity over decades.
In their youth, Chteau Musar Reds are dense and richly textured, offering intense “baked fruit” notes of plums, damsons, cranberries, cherries, figs, and dates. The Bordeaux grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, adds layers of black fruit, while Rhne varieties, Cinsault and Carignan, bring fragrant floral notes (violets, pepper) and a supple spiciness.
Depending on the vintage, either characteristic may take the lead, but the style remains unmistakably Lebanese: deeply aromatic with persistent, vibrant fruit flavours.
