Unlike most distilleries that enter barrels at 125 proof, Michter’senters at just 103 proof. This lower entry strength enhances the whiskey’s rich, deep flavour by allowing better wood sugar integration and slower maturation, though it increases storage costs. The result is a powerful, yet remarkably smooth straight rye whiskey that delivers complexity and balance in every sip.
