Bruichladdich Distillery is a distillery on the Rhinns of the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery produces mainly single malt Scotch whisky. It is owned by Rmy Cointreau and is one of eight working distilleries on the island. The name Bruichladdich is an anglicisation of Bruthach a’ Chladaich, Scottish Gaelic for Brae of the Shore.
The nose is elegantly sweet with notes of honeyed barley, punchy fruit and floral aromas alongside a hint of sea spray. The palate gives an enticing mix of creaminess and salinity, flavours of red apples and white grapes come through with touches of sweet cinnamon and brown sugar. The finish is mineral-rich with toffee and more honey, with a nice balance between the sprightly fruit and tangy sea-spray elements.
