A great value Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot blend from Graves in Bordeaux with a lot of classic appeal. The nose offers generous plum and cassis fruit with some liquorice and cedar notes adding complexity. The medium-to-full-bodied palate is elegant and silky, full of blackberries, blueberries and cassis mingling withsweet spices and more liquorice. There’s well balanced acidity, finely textured tannins and a long finish with herbaceous sage and cedar oak. It can be a little restrained immediately after opening so we’d recommend decanting this and leaving for an hour to open up the flavours.

For more than 150 years, Chateau Crabitey was owned by a religious order, which was destined to welcome orphans. Then, the Franciscan Sisters taught them the vineyards crafts and winemaking. In 2008, the Sisters decided to sell the estate and gave Arnaud de Butler vineyards manager and winemaker for 10 years and his wife the opportunity to acquire this unique place. Today, the vineyard situated in Portets at the heart of the Graves appellation has an area of 30 hectares producing red and white wines.
