TASTING NOTES
At first approach, the nose is characterized by tropical fruits which develop into notes of white-fleshed fruit. Fresh and delicate on the palate, with splendid length and excellent structure.
FOOD PAIRING
281 can be beautifully paired with flavoursome dishes, premium shellfish whether it be served simply like roasted lobster, rock lobster in banana leaf or cooked in a scallop risotto. Spicy dishes like Peking duck for its sweet and sour flavour, beef curry for its fragrant spices or delicious yakitori grilled with its sweet sauce. Summery salads served with lobster, avocado and grapefruit quarters. Sophisticated berry desserts.
Chteau Minuty 281
Chteau Minuty 281 is an exceptional ros made from a clonal selection of Grenache grapes aged an average of 25 years and influenced by the estate’s maritime terroir.
This cuve, created in 2015, is the latest Minuty ros. Why 281? A nod to the blue Pantone number used to decorate the bottle. This intense blue pays homage to the Mediterranean Sea, whose proximity influences and optimizes the quality of Minuty’s vineyards every day. 281 is also inspired by the visionary and revolutionary ambition of Etienne Matton, father of Jean-Etienne and Franois. Back in the 70s, he created a selection of Grenache clones exclusive to the estate, from which the best parcels reserved for Cuve 281 are grown today. This ros pays tribute to the family heritage and the Minuty terroir.
A parcel-by-parcel selection of the estate’s three great terroirs presides over this cuve. To the Grenache from a single clone have been added the Chteau’s beautiful Syrah grapes to bring those spicy, peppery notes to the finish. Like the rest of the estate, the grapes are grown under HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification, with grassing adapted to the soil type and exposure. The grapes are harvested by hand, an essential yet rare requirement for preserving their absolute integrity.
The pale hue and translucent reflections of this ros heralds a delicate wine with an intense and complex bouquet. The fineness of white fruit aromas is disclosed through iodine notes, giving it a unique character.
