Christophe Bellang has been responsible for his parents’ 9-hectare estate for the last decade, so I think it can be safely said to be in his hands now. Only select parcels managed according to the principles of lutte raisonne, which translates roughly to meaning ‘more than’ organic farming are bottled under the family name. Christophe’s wines are charmingly fruit-forward and more than approachable in their youth.
The ‘classified’ part of this vineyard is officially in Meursault, so the vines are well placed to produce superb Chardonnay. Fantastic mini Meursault: lemon cream and pith and just a touch of oak. A real personal favourite here at Taurus and perfect paired with light chicken dishes, shellfish canaps and anything with a buttery, creamy sauce.
