The most recent addition to the Louis Jadot stable, the original Prieur family estate was established in 1804 in the heart of Santenay by brothers Claude and Jean with the vineyards of the Brunet family in Meursault were combined to make Domaine Prieur-Brunet in 1955 when their descendant Guy Prieur married Elizabeth Brunet.
Vineyards
Made from a blend of various plots covering 1.83ha, some located on top of the hill above Santenay-le-Haut and others at the foot of the hill.
Vinification
After a complicated start to the growing season, a dry summer with some much needed rainfall in September meant grapes were harvested at a good level of ripeness from 27 September.
Grapes are vinified in open vats for around 4 weeks, followed by around 18 months in oak.
Tasting Notes
Made from a blend of various plots covering 1.83ha, some located on top of the hill above Santenay-le-Haut and others at the foot of the hill. The wine is well-structured with a deep colour and robust tannins, softened by 18 months of ageing in oak. Expressive red fruit characters dominate.
