Lyme Bay Winery is the home of LBW Drinks. This small, dedicated drinks company is full of people who are passionate about producing delicious and award-winning English Still and Sparkling Wine, Fruit Wine, Cider, Mead, Liqueur and Spirits from their home in Devons beautiful Axe Valley.
Here they combine their knowledge and love of flavours and ingredients with top notch wine-making skills to craft award-winning traditional drinks, tailored to the 21st-century palate. Each of these amazing products is fermented, blended and aged, as appropriate, on site at the Winery under the supervision of the LBW experienced team.
Jack Ratt Ginger Mead
Jack Ratt award-winning meads are fermented, blended and aged on-site using LBW’s own secret blends of honey to create the rich, floral and pungent characteristics for which they are famed.
Often referred to as the Nectar of the Gods or Honey Wine, the golden drink has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, with the demand from people eager to buy mead reaching new heights.
Lyme Bay have been perfecting their fantastic meads for over 15 years now and often experiment with new and bold flavours to push the boundaries of what is possible with mead.
Tasting Notes
This Ginger Mead is dark and sweet, beautifully married with a discreet hint of ginger. It is lovely served at room temperature with spicy food, strong cheeses, or chilled with ice cream. Previously called Tournament Mead.
