This utterly delicious blend of 50% Viognier, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Sauvignon Blanc is another example of just how far Argentina has travelled along the road to making truly world class whites. If you are lucky enough to have tasted Mauricio Lorcas Ancestral White Blend then you are very lucky indeed, and if you havent this wine will give you a little peek at its wonders. 50% of the blend is fermented and aged for 3 months in new French oak, the rest ferments and remains in stainless steel until the final blend is assembled. Only 3,000 bottles were made.
Gorgeous aromas of white peach, grapefruit, green apple and cantaloupe mingle with hints of jasmine flowers. Viognier dominates in the nicest possible way both aromatically and in terms of texture with Chardonnay keeping things nicely in check and Sauvignon buttoning it all down with a nice citrus slap. The oak is brilliantly balanced and the wine is an utter joy to taste.
