Tasting Note

This is seriously good Pinot not showy or overblown, just beautifully made and packed with flavour. Youll find juicy cherry and raspberry, a touch of forest floor, and a gentle spice that lingers on the finish. The tannins are smooth, the acidity gives it freshness, and the whole thing just feels really well put together.

Its the kind of wine you want to take your time with it opens up beautifully in the glass and goes down a treat with food.

Pinot Noir can be tricky too light and it disappears, too heavy and it loses its charm. This hits the sweet spot. You get purity of fruit, a bit of savoury complexity, and that lovely silkiness that makes good Pinot such a joy to drink. Properly grown-up stuff.

Producer Info

Moorooduc Estate is a family affair on Victorias Mornington Peninsula, established by Dr Richard and Jill McIntyre in the early 1980s. What started as a hobby soon became one of the regions leading small producers, known for site-driven wines with depth and finesse.

The McIntyre Vineyard is their flagship site north-facing, with volcanic soils and old vines that produce consistently high-quality fruit. Their daughter Kate is now at the helm, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for sustainable, hands-off winemaking.

Pinot Noir from this site is wild-fermented with whole bunches, aged in French oak (around a third new), and bottled without fining. The 2019 vintage was a low-yield year, which brought extra intensity and structure to the wine.
