The perfect wine lovers port! Aged for 4 years in old oak barrels which produces a beautiful port, full of round, soft flavours. Full bodied and well structured with vibrant dark fruits, cinnamon spices and a long finish.

Since 1906,Quinta de La Rosahas slowly expanded and now consists of 55 hectares of land planted to vines. They produce approximately 85,000 litres of Port and 200,000 litres of wine every year, although the exact amount will vary depending on the weather conditions.

They are fortunate in having a great diversity of vineyards which not only run along the banks of the River Douro, but also climb up to 400 metres above sea level. The majority of their vineyards are south and south west facing and are planted with an assortment of vines varying in both age and variety. All their vineyards are classified as Grade A by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto (IVDP).

Quinta de la Rosa is run by Sophia Bergqvist with invaluable help from her family. Jorge Moreira is La Rosa’s wine maker and is ably assisted by viticulturalist, Nuno Barros. As Sophia is often on the road selling La Rosa’s products, team work and loyalty is vital. Many have worked at La Rosa for more than 10 years and Nelson Gonalves (bottling line) is fourth generation to work at La Rosa. His father, Salvador, is in charge of making the blends. Manuela Lima is in charge of invoicing and all paperwork and Liliana Miguel is our lab technician.

Never one to rest on her laurels, Sophia Bergqvist has invested significantly over the last few years at La Rosa with the construction of a new winery. New granite lagares, fermentation tanks and an automatic basket press have been purchased, a carefully thought out tasting room overlooking the Douro River has been constructed, an extensive area for entertaining has been created, as well as a number of apartments and guest rooms built to develop the tourism side of the business. You cant help but be impressed with the scale of this project and admire Sophia Bergqvists vision for this family Quinta, whilst she has maintained the integrity of the old building and the charm of a family estate in the Douro.
