Royal Tokaji was established in 1990 when a group of 62 vineyard owners came together with overseas investors led by Hugh Johnson, the noted British author and wine historian. From the outset their goal has been to revive and bring back to international acclaim the wines of one of historys most renowned wine regions. Of their 108 hectares of vineyards, 57 hectares are situated in three First Growths – Szt. Tams, Nyulsz, Betsek – and in one Great First Growth of Mzes Mly. These vineyards have been considered to be among the greatest in the region since the early 18th Century. Their 14th Century cellars provide the perfect environment for ageing the wines.
The potential lifespan of some of these wines can be measured in centuries rather than mere decades. While inspired by the incomparable history of this unique region we are committed to a continual quest for improvement. In 2010 a new trailblazing winery was completed giving our winemakers access to the very best technology and equipment which would be the envy of our forefathers. Royal Tokaji remains in private ownership and our wines are exported to over 30 countries. We have received over 100 international awards and are regularly named as one of the finest wineries in the world.
Vinification
Fine quality Asz berries with good flavour, balance and perfectbotrytis were macerated in fermenting must for two days. Afterpressing and finishing fermentation, the wines were filled into300 and 500 litre Hungarian oak casks in our extensive, deep,underground cellars to mature for over two years. The finalblends were carefully crafted in the spring of 2020.

Intense nose with white peach and ripe yellow plum. Fruity and spicy with a surprising freshness, the acidity sluices away the sugars and any cloying feeling left by most dessert wines leaving you ready for more.
