A premium red blend from the esteemed Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons estate, nestled in the Coastal Region of South Africa near Franschhoek. This meticulously crafted wine reflects a Bordeaux-inspired style. Showcasing the regions potential for producing elegant and structured wines with exceptional ageing capability.
The grapes are hand-harvested between February and March from select vineyard sites, ensuring optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in both wooden vats and stainless steel tanks, followed by 16 to 20 days of skin contact to extract rich colour and depth of flavour. The wine is then aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barrels, developing complexity, finesse, and a polished tannic structure.
Ideal for pairing with rich red meat dishes. Try it alongside fennel-crusted sirloin, celeriac puree, or potato fondant with a red wine jus. The wines structure and earthy notes also complement mushroom-based dishes and slow-cooked lamb shoulder.
