The Tedeschi estate dates back to the 17th century and the family have been farming this corner of the Veneto since the 1630s. Since the 20th century, the family name has been associated with top quality Valpolicella in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. The name Marne 180 recalls the type of soil on which their vineyards were planted (marne) and their exposure from south-west to south-east expressed in degrees (180).
It is made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, which are carefully selected and harvested by hand. The wine is aged for 30 months in Slovenian oak barrels, which imparts subtle hints of vanilla and spice and a further 6 months aging in the bottle before release. It has a deep ruby colour and a rich aroma of cherries, plums, and chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a silky texture and intense flavours of dark fruit, tobacco, and earthy notes.
Serve between 16-18 C and pair with hard cheeses or rich braises.
