A mature and gastronomic cuve. Full-bodied, chalky and long. Think yellow fruit, dried fruit citrus, and a nutty undertone. The palate is rich, with an almost oily texture and nice acidity throughout. The Rserve is the domaines flagship, with a blend mirroring its vineyard makeup and representing half of its production. Its blended with 40% reserve wine from a perpetual stock and rests on its lees in bottle for up to 5 years before disgorgement. Beautifully mature upon release, this is a full-bodied, chalky, and long Champagne. Its dosed with 5 g/l and the lot number gives the base vintage. Production averages 25,000 bottles.
The family is based in Festigny, deep in the small Flagot Valley just behind the first row of hills flanking the Marne to the south, and its vines are in or just around the valley. Its warmer here than the greater Marne Valley, and its amphitheater-like shape gives its vines exposure to the north, south and east.
