Tasting Notes

Intensely golden in colour, which comes from the skin contact and aging in large oak botti, Vanedda Bianco captivates with a prominent bouquet of coconut and tropical fruit notes, complemented by an undercurrent of gentle spices. On the palate, this wine reveals a richness balanced by well-integrated acidity, showcasing excellent structure and length. Bright notes of green apple, pear, and citrus zest harmonise beautifully with the wines deeper tropical character, leading to a clean and refreshing finish that invites another sip.

Craftsmanship and Terroir

To produce Vanedda, the winemakers were inspired by ancient Sicilian traditions, resulting in a unique, highly individual wine. This exceptional blend features two classic Sicilian grape varieties, Cataratto and Grillo, which are fermented on their skins, just as wine was made in years gone by. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested into small baskets, with only the highest quality fruit selected for Vanedda.

After harvest, the grapes are refrigerated at 10C for around 24 hours. The vinification process begins with careful de-stemming, followed by skin fermentation for at least two days. The wine is then separated from the skins and completes fermentation in 30hl oak botti. Following fermentation, the wine rests on the lees for at least seven months and remains in bottle for an additional six months before being released onto the market.
